Synapse Product Development

I began working at Synapse Product Development as a Mechanical Engineering Intern in September of 2009 and have worked my way up to being a probational Mechanical Engineer. Since working at Synapse I have learned a lot about designing a product and injection molded plastics. The project that I have been working on for most of my time at Synapse, that I can talk about, is the Archerfish Solo Camera, which has won awards at CSE the last two year. This device is an recognition security camera which will alarm you to particular events or objects, such as the mailman arriving. Synapse has designed the housing and mounting system for the camera. When I started on the project most of the design had already been done, but I have been helping in any design changes, environmental testing and support through manufacturing, which has resulted in many design iterations including the need to improve lens alignment and eliminate cosmetic defects due to sink. I have also worked on projects for Tetracore, Nike, Eight Inc., and T-Mobile.
