A little about myself:
I graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering in July, 2009. Two months later I was lucky enough to get out of retail and started working as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Synapse Product Development and have now been a Mechanical Engineer for about 2 months. Through my senior year of college I worked as a research assistant in the Microcellular Plastics lab at UW. The summer between my junior and senior year I also did a manufacturing engineering internship at Cascade Designs, Inc, while also continuing to work at REI as a sales associate. I believe that even though I still have a lot to learn as an engineer, I have taken full advantage of the opportunities given to me and will prove to be an asset to any company I continue my career with.
I have a strong passion for pretty much anything outdoors. I have been hiking and camping since I was very young and have recently been exploring mountaineering, cycling and kayaking. Two summers ago I attempted to summit Mt. Rainier for the first time and had to turn around because of weather and hope to summit in the next couple years. I also began running half marathons last year and recently began competing in triathlons and want to begin training for a half ironman in the near future.
I enjoy a good challenge both in life and work and hope to bring my determination into a position were I can excel, use my education, personal experiences and creativity.
